Medicines have benefits and some have risks. Always read the label and use only as directed. If symptoms persist or you have side effects see your health professional. Brands and generics both contain the same active ingredient(s) and are medically equivalent. Some brands are marketed under different names by the same manufacturing country depending on the country of origin.
Clinicians Iron Boost is a non constipating iron which is well absorbed. Iron is a trace mineral the body uses for the production of red blood cells. Iron deficiency is common in vegetarians, menstruating women, pregnancy, infants and the elderly.
DIRECTIONS: Adults and Children over 4 years: 1 Capsule daily with food. For young children, mix capsule contents with orange juice.
PRECAUTIONS: Individuals with haemochromatosis (a condition associated with excess iron storage) should consult a health professional regarding their iron status before considering iron supplementation. Children should only use iron supplementation under the supervision of a health professional. Keep out of reach of children. Store below 25 degrees celsius.
INGREDIENTS: Each vegetable capsule contains: Carbonyl Iron (elemental iron 24mg) 24mg, Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid) 50mg, Vitamin B12 (as cyanocobalamin) 50mcg, Folic Acid 300mcg. Also contains: magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and silicon dioxide.
No added: gluten, dairy, yeast, sugar, artificial colours, sweeteners, flavours or preservatives. Suitable for vegetarians.
Clinicians Iron Boost is a potent, once-daily iron supplement which works to quickly and gently restore iron levels in those who are deficient.
Unlike many iron supplements, which are made with soluble salts, Clinicians Iron Boost contains carbonyl iron, a pure and potent form of the mineral which provides a number of benefits:
In fact Clinicians Iron Boost is so gentle that it is safe for use in pregnancy and breastfeeding, elderly patients, and young children. Just because it is gentle doesn't mean it is not potent, however---as with any iron supplement, care should be taken that large amounts are not consumed, as too much iron can be as problematic as too little.
The formula also contains iron co-factors, including vitamin C, vitamin B12 and folic acid. These nutrients further enhance absorption and help the body utilize the iron for maximum effectiveness.
Iron is a critical trace mineral used to make hemoglobin, which in turn transports oxygen throughout the body. Anemia, the term for the condition in which oxygen transport is inhibited, can produce a range of symptoms---from mildly irritating to fatal. Some of the more common symptoms noticed in early stages of anemia include:
Some people are at greater risk of iron deficiency or anemia than others, particularly women who are pregnant or menstruating, vegetarians, and individuals who are very elderly or very young.
Of course, not all individuals at risk of anemia develop the condition, and symptoms of anemia can have many other causes---anemia itself can be caused by a variety of factors which have nothing to do with iron deficiencies. The only way to truly know iron levels is to have them tested at a doctor's office or laboratory. It is highly advisable to confirm iron levels are low before starting iron supplementation.
Directions for Use
The standard dose of Clinicians Iron Boost is one capsule per day. A glass of fluid and food is recommended with each dose.
The standard dose of one capsule (24 mg) daily should not be exceeded without doctor approval, particularly if pregnant or breastfeeding.
Capsules are designed to be opened if desired; contents can be sprinkled in orange juice for easier administration in patients who have difficulty swallowing, are unwilling to swallow pills, or simply out of personal preference. Since this product is made with carbonyl iron, the metallic taste is minimal compared to most other iron-containing supplements.
Clinicians Iron Boost can be used along with multivitamins and other supplements, but ideally these should be taken a few hours apart for maximum absorption of both products.
Each capsule of Clinicians Iron Boost contains:
Inactive ingredients: Magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide.
Clinicians Iron Boost does not contain: Gluten, dairy, yeast, sugar, artificial colors, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavors or artificial preservatives.
