SunSense Sensitive Matte is a powerful but gentle sunscreen designed for use by individuals with highly sensitive or reactive skin. It is suitable for use on all skin types in ages 6 months and up and safe to use while pregnant. Water-resistant for 4 hours, it will not interfere with swimming or other water activities.
For the most part this product is very similar to SunSense Sensitive. A key difference, however, is that SunSense Sensitive Matte contains a light tint that blends uneven skin tone and leaves an invisible, matte finish. Individuals who find SunSense Sensitive leaves an unsightly white residue will definitely want to try this product instead.
Chemical-Free UV Protection
SunSense Sensitive Matte offers SPF50+ UVA and UVB protection---the most powerful SPF available. Most standard sunscreens, not formulated for sensitive skin, achieve this protection with the use of chemical absorbers. SunSense Sensitive Matte does not contain any chemical absorbers, and is also free of added fragrances. Instead the sunscreen relies on zinc to physically block UV rays.
This product is ideal for individuals with sensitive or reactive skin who find that regular sunscreens aggravate acne, eczema, rosacea or similar skin conditions, as well as those who tend to develop rashes, inflammation or redness from chemical-laden skin products. It is also a great choice for young children with vulnerable, delicate skin.
In addition to its sunscreen properties, SunSense Sensitive Matte benefits sensitive skin with Nicotinamide. Nicotinamide helps preserve the skin's natural, protective barrier while improving skin tone and texture. The skin's natural barrier keeps skin properly hydrated and helps it repel dirt, bacteria and other potentially irritating or blemish-causing impurities; something that is extra important with sensitive, reactive skin.
In short, SunSense Sensitive Matte offers powerful UV protection for sensitive skin without the discomfort, irritation and unsightly blemishes often produced by chemical-laden sunscreens. This is a quality product by Australia's best-selling sunscreen brand, available at an easily affordable price.
Getting the Most from SunSense Sensitive Matte
The sunscreen should be applied 15 to 20 minutes prior to UV exposure. Apply liberally to exposed areas, gently massage into the skin and allow to dry.
When first placed on the skin the cream will have a purplish tint; this should disappear as it is absorbed and dries. If used in very large quantities, this tint may remain faintly visible. The added tint helps skin tone appear more even and prevents the white residue produced by many sunscreens. Once dry, SunSense Sensitive Matte leaves a natural, matte finish.
For maximum protection the sunscreen should be reapplied every 4 hours. Protective clothing, hats and eyewear will provide additional protection. Note that SunSense Sensitive Matte may stain clothing and other fabrics if it comes in contact with them before drying.
Do not apply this or any other sunscreen to broken or infected skin, and avoid contact with eyes and other mucous membranes.
Note that, while most people can use SunSense Sensitive without any problems, those with sensitive skin should test the product on a small patch of skin before applying liberally the first time. A small percentage of users may experience reactions even to minimal ingredients.
