SunSense Lip Balm is a powerful sunscreen designed for use on the delicate skin of the lips. In addition to blocking UVA and UVB rays, the balm soothes dry, chapped lips and helps retain and restore moisture.
This product is free of PABA, PABA derivatives, lanolin, preservatives and fragrances; most people even with extra-sensitive lips can use SunSense Lip Balm without irritation. Like all SunSense products, it has not been tested on animals.
SunSense Lip Balm is water resistant for 4 hours, so you can swim or consume beverages without fear of losing protection. The balm can be reapplied as often as desired; for maximum UV protection, every 2 to 4 hours is recommended.
The balm has a thick, rich texture that feels cool and soothing when applied. Each tube has a slanted, glide-on applicator that makes application a breeze. Only a small amount is needed to thinly coat lips; used properly it leaves only a faint sheen on lips, similar to using a clear lip gloss or petroleum jelly. If used in large quantity it may have a white tint, making lips appear lighter.
In addition to its sunscreen components, SunSense Lip Balm includes vitamin E and cocoa butter to keep lips moist and prevent flaking. Vitamin E also has anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe irritated skin and promote rapid healing.
The balm's soothing and hydrating properties are so effective that many people use the product for relief after exposure, or when lips are dry and sore from other causes, such as windburn.
Directions for Use
SunSense Lip Balm is best applied to clean, dry lips 15 to 20 minutes prior to sun exposure. A faint glossy sheen is normal; applying large amounts of the balm is not harmful but may cause lips to appear light or have a white tint.
The balm may be reapplied as frequently as desired. For best results, reapply at least every 4 hours as long as sun exposure continues.
Do not apply to broken skin, sores or skin that is infected.
