Hytrin goes by the name terazosin HCl and belongs to a class of drugs called alpha-blockers, antihypertensives. It is a medicine prescribed to treat the symptoms related to an enlarged prostate (benign prostate hyperplasia) and high blood pressure (hypertension). Each tablet consists of 2mg of terazosin as monohydrochloride dihydrate. Hytrin is a white crystalline drug that is freely soluble in water and isotonic saline with a molecular weight of 459.93.
