What is Panafen Plus?

Panafen Plus is an effective pain reliever for strong pain, containing the combined strength of ibuprofen and codeine phosphate.

Panafen Plus contains ibuprofen 200mg and codeine phosphate 12.8mg, for the relief of strong pain.

What types of pain is Panafen Plus suitable for?

Panafen Plus provides powerful double action temporary relief of strong pain and discomfort associated with:

  • Headaches
  • Migraine
  • Period pain
  • Back or muscular pain
  • Arthritis
  • Toothache
  • Neuralgia
  • Cold & flu symptons

Panafen Plus also helps to reduce fever.

How does Panafen Plus work?

Panafen Plus is a combination analgesic, combining the analgesic effects of both ibuprofen and codeine phosphate.

Like other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), ibuprofen blocks the activation of peripheral nerve fibres and reduces the number of pain impulses delivered to the spinal cord and the brain. NSAIDs mostly act at peripheral sites, which accounts for anti-inflammatory action.

Additionally, codeine is an opioid analgesic and interacts with opioid receptors to block transmission of the pain signal. Codeine also stops the brain receiving the pain signal.

How to use Panafen Plus

For adults and children over 12 years: Take 2 cablets for the first dose with water, then 1-2 caplets every 4 hours with water, as required.  Do not exceed 6 caplets in 24 hours.

Panafen Plus Reviews

Panafen Plus is an effective pain reliever for moderate pain--in the levels of 4-6 on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the worst pain imaginable and 1 being minor discomfort. Although nearly identical to Nurofen Plus, it actually seems a bit more effective, although this could be merely psychosomatic.

I missed two days of work, an important music rehearsal and my commitments to help run the SI camp-over event this weekend. I went four days without being responsible for taking care of my kids, AND I lost six pounds without even trying! “But, How?” you ask. Well I am told it was an antibiotic-resis ...

Codeine Velvet Club – “ Hollywood” The Fratellis’ Jon Lawler (AKA Jon Fratelli) and singer/songwriter Lou Hickey have a new project called Codeine Velvet Club. It’s an interesting collaboration with a throwback sound that features an orchestral score written by Mick Cooke of Belle & Sebastian, backi ...

If you’ve been reading my blog lately, you know it’s true. After years of raw veganism, working at the Tree of Life and raw food cafes, I am no longer vegan. I’m still a big believer in a high RAW seasonal diet, but the two things that I could never justify to myself about the vegan philosophy is th ...

I was still pretty drunk when I woke up at 9:30. The meeting started at 10:00. There was no way we would make it on time. My partner in crime from the night before was singing something at the top of his lungs in the shower. We had made it back around 6:00 in the morning and the only way out of the ...

If I was into using heaps of userpics, I think this would be one of my faves :-) Well, I am still alive. In a LOT of pain, but still alive. And the weather gods heard my prayers and are watering my plants for me. The garden was getting pretty dry. I don't think there will be enough rain to fill my f ...

I am just getting over an upper respiratory viral infection. Next time, I know what I am going to take. According to Wikipedia, Recent studies have found that theobromine, a compound found in cocoa solids, is more effective as a cough suppressant than prescription codeine. This compound suppresses t ...

Frank was holding the baby. His name was Jack and he was seven months old. He waved his arms and shouted with joy. His smile showed a tooth in the gum base. “Ah sure go on outta that now,” said Frank, amusing them both with the spiel. “What would you be talkin’ about at all at all?” Jack bounced and ...

2009 was a fairly eventful year in the life of Jen Butson. In this post I’m going to reminisce over some of these occurrences. January-March: Don’t really recall much from these months aside from a lot of school work, hating my living situation, and a lot of bad behaviour. April: - Competed as a fin ...

Dear 2010, Yes, I know only mere hours into this New Year/Decade and I already am griping! But what else is a girl to do when you come in with such a bang?! Seriously? Every hour on the hour a child was up either screaming for apparently no reason at all, wanting to talk and/or play her DS, or pukin ...

Nearly midnight! In seventeen minutes, a new year begins, and – arguably – a new decade. 2010: it sounds new, never mind the numbering systems. (Does anyone really care that, technically, the 21 st century started in 2001? No, not really.) I am nestled in my bed with the heater on full blast, ready ...

Sciatica is a very painful condition, and it is also one of the most common causes of debilitating pain. The main symptom of sciatica is an intense pain down the back of one leg, often right from the buttocks down to the calf, and sometimes even into the foot. A feeling of tingling or numbness often ...

Tuesday morning, as I walked into work at 7am, a piece of the parking lot asphalt reached up and grabbed the toe of my shoe and threw me to the ground. Because of that, I learned a few things: McDonald's coffee will freeze almost instantly if you spill it on the ground when it's dark and only 17 deg ...

Hi all. Bronchitis + Laryngitis = Scarce Raptor. I had a great Christmas despite the coughing and lack of voice.
