Panadeine - Codeine Phosphate Summary Information

Online Panadeine from Kiwi Drug New Zealand Pharmacy

Only $24.94 USD (100 Tablets) - Buy Panadeine

Drug Name: Panadeine

Generic Name: Codeine Phosphate

Uses:

Panadeine has a wide variety of applications. Because Panadeine belongs to a class of drugs known as opioid analgesics, Panadeine has narcotic properties slightly similar to morphine but with slightly less potency and dangers. Panadeine acts by directly stimulating the mu opioid receptors of the central nervous system.

Since Panadeine acts on the nervous system, it is used to control a small variety of involuntary muscle actions such as intestinal motility, cough reflexes and mild to moderate pain. Panadeine is usually given to patients who are experiencing chronic coughs. Panadeine is also given to patients whose proper healing regimen requires as little coughs as possible.

How to use:

Panadeine is usually taken orally although there are some variations that require direct injection. The oral variations of Panadeine usually come in tablet or capsule forms, which are to be swallowed with a full glass of water. Remember to follow the directions on the label carefully, and take it only as directed.

Side Effects:

Panadeine may have the tendency to cause minor dizziness and drowsiness. If you are taking Panadeine for the first time, it may be helpful if you refrain from doing hazardous activities such as operating heavy machinery or driving until you are fully aware of its effects on you. Also, Panadeine may add to the feeling of drowsiness and dizziness brought about by other medications and/or drinking liquor.

Panadeine potentially contain sulfites, which may trigger allergic reactions in some people. If you are allergic to any medication containing sulfites, do not take Panadeine.

Other minor side effects that Panadeine may cause include minor stomach pains and difficulty in urinating. However, if you experience severe side effects such as difficulty in breathing and sudden mood changes, consult your doctor.

Drug Interaction:

Panadeine may interact with medications such as HIV protease inhibitors, oxybates, tricyclic antidepressants and other narcotic pain medicines. If you are taking any of these medications, consult your doctor before taking Panadeine.

Overdose:

Symptoms of Panadeine overdose include hallucinations, vomiting, vision changes, seizures, shallow breathing, confusion and fever. If you think you may have taken too much Panadeine, consult your doctor immediately.

Missed Dose:

If you have missed a dose of Panadeine, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for your next Panadeine dose, then skip the current dose completely and continue with your regular Panadeine dosing schedule. Never take a double dose of Panadeine to make up for a missed dose.

Important Note:

Panadeine should not be taken in large doses at regular intervals since Panadeine and Codeine Phosphates in general are known to be habit-forming. Take it only as instructed in the label, or according to a doctor’s prescription (if any).

Also, if you have been taking Panadeine for an extended period of time, do not suddenly stop taking Panadeine since withdrawal symptoms might occur. Panadeine withdrawal symptoms include nausea, diarrhea and anxiety. If you wish to stop taking Panadeine, gradually lessen your dosage until you can stop safely and completely.

Storage:

Panadeine should be stored at room temperature away from excessive moisture. Keep Panadeine out of the reach of minors.
