Gastrolyte is an oral rehydration therapy for the treatment of dehydration due to acute watery diarrhoea and/or vomiting

Dosage

Fill plastic measure to the line (200mL) with fresh, cold drinking water. For infants use freshly boiled and cooled water.

Empty contents of one Gastrolyte sachet into water in measure. Stir well before drinking. Gastrolyte solution should be drunk freshly and frequently while diarrhoea lasts.

Ingredients
When made up, solution contains:

Glucose 90mmol/L

Sodium 60mmol/L

Potassium 20mmol/L

Chloride 60mmol/L

Citrate 10mmol/L

Purpose/Usage
To treat and prevent Dehydration due to Diarrhoea and Traveller's Gastroenteritis in all age groups. One sachet should be mixed in 200ml of fresh drinking water. In the case of infants the water should be boiled and cooled. For toddlers and older children, Gastrolyte may be given freely until their thirst is satisfied. Adults should drink 200ml after each loose bowel action
