Product Information

Azep same as Astelin spray?

Azep is manufactured in New Zealand and is the exact same product as Astelin . It is a 137 mcg, bottle contains 30 mg (1 mg/mL) of azelastine hydrochloride (steroid-free). Which means it is a very unique drug with a chemical structure unlike any other allergy medication. Hay fever is most common type of allergy and in medical terms in known is Allergic rhinitis.  Symptoms that Astelin helps to control include: itchy runny nose, sneezing, congestion, dry, puffy, and watery eyes. Astelin nasal spray and Azep are the same.

Recommended dosage for Astelin nasal spray

To insure you that the Astelin pump is working properly allergy patients should pump the spray bottle system until 4 sprays or fine mist appears.   Dosage for Children 5 years to 11 years of age are recommended by medical professionals to take one spray per nostril twice daily.    For adolescences to adulthood who suffer from Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis Doctors recommend 1 or 2 sprays per nostril, twice daily.  For further questions contact your family practitioner or local pharmacy.

Getting symptom relief with ASTELIN® is as easy as 1-2-3. As with any medicine, correct use will help to maximize benefits, so here are three simple dosing steps:

Clear your nose – Clear your nostrils by blowing your nose.

Look down – Tilt your head down to keep the medicine from going down into your throat.

Sniff gently – Spray once per nostril. Sniff gently. Spray once per nostril again.* Do not spray into your eyes.

ASTELIN provides relief from bothersome nasal symptoms such as congestion, itchy/runny nose, sneezing and postnasal drip due to seasonal allergens or environmental irritants.

ASTELIN is steroid-free, does not contain pseudoephedrine, and relieves your symptoms by blocking the effects of histamine — the primary cause of allergy symptoms.

ASTELIN is available by prescription only. Ask your doctor if treatment with ASTELIN may be right for you.

ASTELIN® relieves a wide range of allergy symptoms, including congestion (a blocked nose), an itchy or runny nose, sneezing, and postnasal drip (that drip at the back of your throat).

Most people using ASTELIN start to feel better within 15 to 45 minutes of use.4,5,* Unlike pills, the medicine in a nasal spray doesn't need to work its way through your body before becoming effective. The medicine goes directly where it's needed immediately — your nose!

If you use a nasal spray such as ASTELIN, be sure to follow the directions for administering it properly. This can help you receive the maximum benefit every time you use it.
