Quercetin - is a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect the cells from damage by free radical molecules. Quercetin provides anti-inflammatory benefits, making Quercetin virtually indicated in all inflammatory and allergic conditions. Quercetin is extremely beneficial for respiratory problems such as asthma, sinusitis and hayfever because it can block allergic reactions (anti-histamine) to pollen and reduce inflammation in the airways and lungs. Being a bioflavonoid, it has the ability to protect Vitamin C from being broken down too quickly in the body. Quercetin strengthens the blood vessels, and is useful in treating atherosclerosis and high cholesterol levels by its ability to reduce the oxidation of LDL cholesterol. Quercetin inhibits the build up of sorbitol (a type of sugar) in the lens of the eye, a cause of cataracts, making it beneficial in the treatment and prevention of cataracts.
Vitamin C - provided in the buffered form Calcium ascorbate, which is gentler on the stomach. Vitamin C helps to strengthen the capillaries and cell walls and is crucial for the formation of collagen, an important protein used to make skin, scar tissue, tendons, ligaments and blood vessels. Vitamin C enhances immunity, speeds wound healing, promotes healthy gums and is a powerful antioxidant. Vitamin C protects Quercetin from oxidation. Citrus Bioflavonoids - are essential for the effective utilization of Vitamin C in the body. There is a mutual relationship between Vitamin C and Citrus Bioflavonoids as they work together to enhance the action of each other. Citrus Bioflavonoids are powerful antioxidants.
Bromelain - may reduce the quantity of mucous and alleviate inflammation associated with sinuses. Bromelain may be useful in the treatment of hayfever and perennial rhinitis. Bromelain enhances the absorption of Quercetin.
